10 & 11 Month Baby Update | Nolan

Hello there!

Another month has flew by, I can barely keep up! Actually… Nolan will be 12 months old on May 17th! So, I’ve decided that I’ll just combine months 10 and 11 since they would be back to back anyway! He’s growing so fast and it’s very exciting. If you want to read the last update, you can find that here!

Milestones: This month went by so fast, everything seems like a blur! Nolan is still a very happy baby. I am so thankful for that. Lately he has been really trying to figure out all of his toys by pressing all the buttons, opening things, pushing cars along the floor, and turning pages of books really well. He is able to climb on things now and can climb up the stairs. He learned to shake his head yes and no – whether he actually picked up what those mean, I don’t know. He got three more teeth, so is up to 6 now! One of the cutest things he’s started doing is blowing kisses. Oh my goodness, it’s the most precious thing!

He still really loves saying “dada” and “mama” and says what sounds like “book” and “baby”. He also makes “gaga” and “tata” sounds and will try to sing songs along with us. He also figured out the “all done” “please” and “eat” sign so can now do four signs successfully. I don’t practice signs with him as much as I should.

Size: 24.5 pounds! I don’t know height right now.

Health: He got sick at the end of his 10th month with a cold and cough that eventually gave him an ear infection. It was a rough couple of weeks. Add teething to that, and you’ve got a grumpy little fella.

Sleep: He’s been sleeping at night perfectly, which is such a relief. He sleeps from 7:00 PM – between 5 and 6:30 AM. There were a couple of nights that he would wake up and not go back to sleep, but I’m assuming that was a combination of being sick and teething. As for naps, I’ve been having a hard time getting him to take naps during the day. It’s always a struggle, but eventually he does fall asleep and will nap for an hour to an hour and a half. He usually takes 2 naps per day.

Social: He started to show a little bit of shyness these past two months, but over all is still very friendly to everyone. He loves other babies which I get to witness when I drop him off at daycare. He’s often the first baby there, so I rarely get to see him interact with other kids. He still goes to daycare 3 days per week and they just moved him up to the one year old room.

Eating: He’s still been eating a mixture of solid foods and breastmilk. We are currently trying to figure out how we are going to wean him from breastfeeding…

Loves: Reading books and going outside!

Baby Gear Favorites: This Camelbak Edy kids water bottle. Nolan loves drinking out of it and does really well with it. He actually drinks much better out of this bottle than any sippy cups.

I hope everyone had an amazing mothers day yesterday! :)
